Doing Consent In Relationships

February 11, 2019 | 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm EST

The Centre for Safer Sex and Sexual Violence Support is proud to host Karen B.K. Chan and her workshop: Doing Consent In Relationships.

The practice of sexual consent changes when the context changes.

How do you “do” consent when you know someone very well?
When touch or intimacy is an ongoing terrain you navigate together?
When you have already habits and rituals together?
Or when you already have communication patterns that are not consent-based?

This interactive workshop will start with the foundations of consent and then apply them to relationships new and old. We will explore non-verbal consent; the differences between pleasure, desire, arousal, and consent; and also concrete solutions for sticky or confusing situations!
