Reclaiming your Story, Tools for Writing About Trauma

*Due to time and logistic reasons, this will be the last independent workshop I’m hosting.*

Join me for an evening of writing. Learn how to craft stories about your lived experience using creative writing tools. This interactive workshop will provide a supportive environment for you to individually and collectively create. This workshop is for folks of all experience levels, but especially people who are new to writing and want to tell their story, be it for themselves or a larger audience.

The Details:
Who? Women, genderqueer, 2Spirit, and non-binary people
When? Oct 25th 6-8pm
Where? 2340 Dundas Street West
How? Buy your ticket on Eventbrite! No tickets at the door.
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds (message me if this applies)

Safety and Access:
Scent-free space.

The venue is wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp at the entrance & accessible washroom.
You are welcome to leave the workshop at any time if you aren’t comfortable. We will discuss safety containers for writing about personal issues. If you have any safety needs or questions, feel free to contact me prior to the workshop or at the workshop.

About the Facilitator:

Emily Gillespie is an author, community builder and facilitator. They are interested in ways that artistic practices can be used for healing, having difficult conversations, and challenging norms, especially around mental health. Gillespie is here to listen to these difficult conversations, and offer writing as a tool to help our world heal.
