Overcoming Anxiety (Part 1: The Body)

November 21, 2018 | 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EST

Join Danielle Hulan, MSW, RSW for an experiential two-part workshop on anxiety.

Anxiety is a complicated force. Increase your confidence in understanding and responding to your own experience of anxiety. In these workshops, you may begin to think about anxiety in new ways. You will learn and practice anti-anxiety interventions, and find a combination of body and mind-focused interventions that work for you.

During this two-part workshop, we will focus on responding to 1) anxiety in the body and 2) anxiety in the mind. Feel free to attend one or both workshops; while they are most benificial in combination, sessions can function independantly.

Part One – Anxiety in the Body, November 21st:

– Connecting around how anxiety affects our bodies

– Responding in ways that will build trust between you and your body

– Body-focused strategies to reduce anxiety (evidence-based!)

– Integrating new ideas and practices through a brief journaling and self-reflection

Part Two – Anxiety in the Mind, November 28th:

– Connecting around how anxiety affects our minds

– Responding in ways that will separate you from the anxiety in your mind

– Mind-focused strategies to reduce anxiety (evidence-based!)

– Practice combining part one and part two for even more powerful effects

– Integrating new ideas and practices through a brief journaling and self-reflection

A variety of teas will be provided by our friends at Living Apothecary.
