Laughing Like Crazy Showcase in celebration of World Mental Health Day

October 10, 2018 | 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Laughing Like Crazy and Laughing Like Crazier are celebrating their 13 years of empowering hope, breaking down isolation, building self-esteem and challenging stigma by looking at difficult challenges through the lens of humour. Through the program, participants develop a stand-up comedy routine based on their experiences of their mental health challenges and navigation of the mental health system. The culmination of the program is a public showcase performance. These shows raise awareness, reduce stigma, and are an opportunity to create meaningful dialogue about the impacts of mental health challenges on individuals and communities.

This year, in celebration of World Mental Health Day on October 10th, the Mood Disorders Association of Ontario (MDAO) presents a showcase of past graduates to celebrate the success of the program, the impact it has had on both participants and the MDAO community, and to showcase the work that we do everyday to raise awareness of mental health challenges and instill hope for recovery in the communities.

The showcase is at North Toronto Collegiate Institute at 17 Broadway Ave, Toronto, ON, M4P 1T7. It is 2 blocks north of Eglinton subway station, which is very close to MDAO Toronto office. North Toronto CI is wheelchair accessible.
