First Response Toolkit – Capacity Building Training for Front-Line Staff

Women Against Violence (WAV) is an Action Group of the Toronto West Local Immigration Partnership (TWLIP) that aims to promote the message:

“Gender-based violence is everyone’s issue to address.”

The Action Group supports local community organizations in enhancing knowledge and building capacity to address this issue.

This is a free half-day training on toolkit prepared to assist frontline staff support clients who are victims of Gender-Based Violence. Attendees will have an enhanced ability to respond to clients’ needs and situations including,

• increase women’s safety
• provide information on resources and options for clients
• make effective, timely referrals to specialized services and supports and
• encourage women to take action to end the violence and begin to take steps towards positive changes in their lives.
