End Youth Homelessness in the 6ix Exhibit

April 1, 2019 | 9:00 am - April 15, 2019 | 7:00 pm EDT

A myth-busting exhibit on youth homelessness, effective interventions, and innovations in affordable youth housing solutions.
About 2,000 young people are homeless every night in Toronto. 20% of Canada’s homeless population is between 13 and 24.
What pushes young people into homelessness? How can they find home and belonging? Effective interventions exist. This interactive exhibit explores these questions and asks us to work together to end youth homelessness.
All printed materials featured in the exhibit are printed at Eva’s Print Shop, a full-service, social enterprise digital printer that reduces youth homelessness.
Highlight: #EvasTinyHome Display
The exhibit features a “tiny home” model display built by young people at Eva’s Construction and Building Maintenance Training Program. It is a representation of the kind of affordable housing that can help young people transition from homeless to housed.
The exhibit also highlights Eva’s YOUth Belong, an innovative new program to provide specialized housing supports for Black and racialized young people.
Come Explore: Impact, Interventions, Innovations
Homelessness is not a young person’s fault. Our society creates the problem so we all have to be a part of the solutions. We do not have to accept the status quo. We can bring youth homelessness and housing instability to an end. We invite you to come learn about the youth homelessness impacts, interventions, and innovations.
For 25 years, Eva’s Initiatives for Homeless Youth has provided shelter, transitional housing, and programming to help homeless and at-risk youth reach their potential to lead productive, self-sufficient, and healthy lives. Learn more about Eva’s.
